This oh-so-refreshing Granita is proving a smash here this summer
in either the childfriendly or adults only version.
GRAPEFRUIT + GIN GRANITA
Makes 2 glasses.
Ingredients
aprox. 400ml Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice
60ml gin, optional
Method
1. Fill 2 standard ice cube trays with the juice and freeze.
2. Place all frozen juice cubes into blender with a dash of extra juice and the gin, if using. Pulse to a fine crushed ice grain.
3. Pour into 2 chilled glasses and serve immediately with a small spoon and a sprig of mint, if so inclined.
Note:
The omission of gin for a child-friendly version went down VERY well with my children.
The original recipe from a Glad promotion in Donna Hay Magazine Issue 01, Holiday 2002.
Could replace gin with vodka, if preferred.

Wow, that looks like the perfect drink. A little cold in the Winter though.

Agreed. But perfect beside the swimming pool here today!
Rebecca
Oh dear, I now find myself longing for gin. At 10am.
kirsten
Yes, sorry about that, Rebecca!
Holly
Thanks, I tried it and it was so so good. Perfect on a hot afternoon. I see more of these in my future!
